DuraSeal DuraClear Max is a clear, non-ambering, two-component water-based finish for commercial and high-traffic residential floors. Mixed with its hardener, it builds a film that DuraSeal positions for scratch, moisture, chemical and slip resistance, and it is designed to go over Quick Coat stain. This is the Satin sheen in the 1-gallon size.

  • Type: Two-component water-based finish (urethane/acrylic), non-ambering
  • Sheen: Satin (line offered in flat, satin, semi-gloss and gloss)
  • Mixing: One 11 oz bottle of hardener per gallon (1 part B to 10.5 parts A); use within 6 hours
  • Coverage: About 500 sq ft per gallon
  • Recoat: 2–3 hours
  • Traffic and cure: Light foot traffic after 24 hours; no rugs, cleaners or heavy traffic for 1 week
  • Coats: 2–3; one coat of DuraClear Sealer first on natural floors
  • Stain compatibility: DuraSeal Quick Coat or DuraSeal Penetrating Stain

Yes. DuraSeal DuraClear Max is a two-component finish: one 11 oz bottle of hardener activates one gallon, and the mixed finish must be used within 6 hours.

How long does DuraSeal DuraClear Max take to dry?

DuraSeal DuraClear Max can be recoated in 2–3 hours. Allow 24 hours before light foot traffic and one week before rugs, cleaners or heavy traffic.

Does DuraClear Max need a sealer?

DuraSeal calls for one coat of DuraClear Sealer under DuraClear Max on natural (unstained) floors. On stained floors it goes over DuraSeal Quick Coat or Penetrating Stain per label directions.
