Norton Durite Screen-Bak screens are the black silicon carbide sanding screens that run on a 16-inch floor buffer. The open-weave polyester mesh resists clogging, the full-resin bond holds the grain, and Norton says the screens are waterproof, so they can be rinsed and reused. 80 grit is one of the coarser screen grits, used to blend sander and edger marks on bare wood or to cut an old finish aggressively.

When should I use an 80 grit sanding screen?

On a Norton Durite screen, 80 grit is one of the coarser screen grits, used to blend sander and edger marks on bare wood or to cut an old finish aggressively.
