Zinsser Bulls Eye Shellac is a traditional, fast-drying shellac finish and sealer for interior woodwork, trim, paneling, cabinets and furniture. Amber shellac adds a warm, orange cast for a rich, antique look. Zinsser does not recommend Bulls Eye Shellac as a sealer under polyurethane; use SealCoat for that.

What is the difference between clear and amber shellac?
Zinsser says Bulls Eye Clear Shellac dries transparent with a faint golden cast, while Bulls Eye Amber Shellac has a warm, orange cast that gives woodwork a rich, antique look.
Can I use Zinsser Bulls Eye Shellac as a sealer under polyurethane?
No. Zinsser states that Bulls Eye Shellac is not recommended as a sealer under polyurethane. For a sealer under oil- or water-based polyurethane, Zinsser makes SealCoat Universal Sanding Sealer, a 100% dewaxed shellac.
How long does Zinsser Bulls Eye Shellac take to dry?
Zinsser Bulls Eye Shellac dries to the touch in 30 minutes and can be recoated in less than 1 hour at about 70°F and 50% humidity.
