Bona DriFast is an oil-modified, quick-dry stain made for bare wood floors: it penetrates, stains and seals, and works under every Bona finish system, including waterborne. Ebony is part of the Metropolitan Collection, which Bona describes as saturated reds, smoky browns, greys and a rich, chocolatey black. Ebony is one of the slower-drying DriFast colors: allow 12–18 hours before finishing. This is the 1-quart size.

How long does Bona DriFast Ebony take to dry?

Ebony is one of the slower-drying Bona DriFast colors: allow 12–18 hours before applying finish. Most other DriFast colors dry in about 2 hours under normal conditions.

Can I use a water-based finish over Bona DriFast stain?

Yes. Bona DriFast stain is compatible with all Bona finish systems, including waterborne finishes such as Traffic HD and Mega ONE. Let the stain dry fully first.

How much floor does a quart of Bona DriFast cover?

Bona DriFast covers 800–1,000 sq ft per gallon, so a quart covers roughly 200–250 sq ft. Buffed on, it can reach up to 2,000 sq ft per gallon.

Can Bona DriFast Ebony be mixed with other colors?

Yes. Bona says all DriFast stains can be blended, so Ebony can be intermixed with other DriFast colors to create a custom tone. Test the mix on a sample board first.
