Minwax Wood Finish is an oil-based penetrating stain that highlights the wood grain, usually in a single coat. Slate (284), from the 36-color range, is a slate-gray tone. It is made for interior wood, including hardwood floors; let it dry completely before applying a clear topcoat. A quart covers roughly 125–150 sq ft, a good size for a small room, stairs, trim or touch-ups.
