What is lacquer thinner used for?

Lacquer thinner is used to thin lacquer coatings and to clean lacquer spray guns, brushes and tools. Check the coating manufacturer's directions before thinning any finish.

Is lacquer thinner the same as paint thinner?

No. Lacquer thinner is a stronger, faster-evaporating solvent blend made for lacquer, while paint thinner is a slower petroleum solvent used with oil-based paints and stains. NDM carries Crown Paint Thinner too.
