How long does DuraSeal oil-based polyurethane take to dry?

DuraSeal oil-based polyurethane needs about 8 hours before the floor is screened and recoated. Allow it to dry overnight before light traffic and 30 days before putting furniture and rugs back. Thick coats dry slower.

How much does a 5-gallon pail of DuraSeal oil-based polyurethane cover?

DuraSeal Polyurethane covers about 500 sq ft per gallon, so a 5-gallon pail covers about 2,500 sq ft per coat. DuraSeal recommends thin coats.

Can I use DuraSeal oil-based polyurethane over DuraSeal Quick Coat stain?

Yes. DuraSeal calls for a DuraSeal penetrating finish, such as Quick Coat, or DuraSeal Quick Dry Sealer before the polyurethane. DuraSeal also lists Quick Coat as compatible with its oil-based finishes.
